I remember reading a long while ago that there were some top executives of various firms who thought that art is extremely important to the economy and the influencing as well as shaping ideas that would influence themselves as well as the individuals that work for their firms -
All this takes place in an environment where many wealthy individuals invest in art as part of their financial portfolios - and as we see with UBS - and Chase for example - many large financial firms are very involved with the arts with their sponsorship of Museum and educational TV programs.
Do we as artists really understand (or is there a way to comprehend) the reasons or motives behind this atmosphere of such large business organizations giving to such institutions entrusted with the care and preservation of art and just how important whatever we create is to the general population and to the financial world itself?
